Z. Burak MERCAN, General Manager of Altınay Defense Technologies, Shares Insights on the Future of Defense Technologies at the International Economy Summit
Z. Burak MERCAN, General Manager of Altınay Defense Technologies, participated as a speaker in the panel titled “The Future of Defense Technologies in Light of Changing Concepts” held on April 18, 2025, as part of the International Economy Summit (UEZ 2025) in Sapanca.
During the panel, MERCAN emphasized the transformation dynamics of the defense sector and sharedstrategic foresight for the future. He highlighted Altınay Defense’s pioneering role in the industry’s development and noted that the company continues to achieve steady growth in line with its 2025 targets, supported by its subsidiaries DASAL Aerospace Technologies and TAAC Aviation Technologies.
MERCAN stated that with the launch of the new Production Technologies Center last year, the company has achieved significant gains in operational and manufacturing efficiency. He also pointed to notable progress in exports, emphasizing that TAAC has increased its presence in the Middle East through engineering services, while DASAL has expanded its reach across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Turkic Republics with its unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems.
Sharing the stage with MERCAN were ASELSAN CEO Ahmet AKYOL, SASAD President and Kale Group Vice Chairman Osman OKYAY, and Pacific Technology Board Member M. Selman DÖNMEZ. The panel was moderated by ULAK Communications General Manager Dr. Ruşen KÖMÜRCÜ.
Held under the theme “Changing Global Realities and Future 5.0”, the summit served as a platform for exploring cross-sectoral collaborations and strategic approaches for the future, with a special focus on defense and aerospace. Altınay Defense Technologies once again demonstrated its solution-oriented vision and leadership within the industry throughout the event.
