$25 Million Investment Leads to Full-Capacity Production

Located in Kocaeli Dilovası Industrial Zone and covering 12,500 square meters of indoor space, the Altınay Defense Production Technologies Center reached full capacity in under a year after its inauguration in December 2024.

“We have advanced not just by delivering products to the defense industry, but by contributing strategic capabilities,” said Z. Burak Mercan, General Manager of Altınay Defense Technologies. “Our investments have been driven by a model rooted in production, R&D, and product development. With its advanced engineering and system integration competencies, our new facility is now a major hub in Türkiye’s defense infrastructure.”

Mercan also noted that the company has an open proposal pool worth $450 million and a project backlog exceeding $200 million, expecting tangible results from this pipeline within the next three years.

Export Focus: Europe and New Markets

With its product management strategy and high-value-added production model, Altınay Defense continues to grow its exports.
“We are evaluating strategic options to establish or acquire a company in Europe to expand our geographic export footprint,” Mercan said. “We also aim to bring our dual-use products to civilian markets.”

Strengthening National Air Platforms with TAAC

Altınay’s subsidiary, TAAC Aviation Technologies, develops landing gear and flight control systems for strategic platforms such as HÜRJET and KAAN.
“There are only a handful of countries capable of developing such critical subsystems for 5th generation fighter aircraft,” said Enis Ata, General Manager of TAAC. “Our testing and qualification processes are carried out to international standards by our expert Turkish engineering teams.”

TAAC recently demonstrated its international capabilities by completing its first export project with a Middle Eastern client.

Murat Koç: “We are the Tesla of Turkish Aviation”

Another Altınay subsidiary, DASAL Aviation Technologies, offers a wide portfolio of rotary-wing unmanned aerial vehicles—from micro UAVs to heavy-lift cargo drones.
“With our expertise in battery and electric propulsion technologies, we hold a unique position in Türkiye,” said Murat Koç, General Manager of DASAL. “Our systems deliver high performance in reconnaissance, surveillance, logistics, and tactical missions.”

Koç added that DASAL products have strong export potential and that the company is actively conducting visits and demo operations across regions including Peru and South Africa.

Technological Depth in Production Infrastructure

Altınay Defense’s facility houses high-precision CNC lines, domestically developed control systems, electromechanical system labs, and testing infrastructure for both military and civilian dual-use applications. The company is also continuing its investment in high-tech gear production lines, including straight and bevel gears.

With its innovative systems in both defense and civilian domains, Altınay Defense remains committed to enhancing Türkiye’s global competitiveness.
