Noting that global defense spending has reached $2.7 trillion as of 2024, Ata stated that Türkiye stands out as a critical supplier thanks to its geopolitical positioning and advanced production capabilities.
Ata highlighted Türkiye’s growing momentum in defense exports, stating that in 2024, exports exceeded$7.15 billion with a 30% increase compared to the previous year. In the first five months of 2025 alone, defense exports approached $3 billion. He pointed out that Türkiye develops high-tech solutions in various fields such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), smart munitions, electronic warfare, and autonomous systems. Ata added that Altınay Defense provides critical subsystems for all these platforms.
Sharing the company’s long-term vision, Ata stated that Altınay Defense aims to rank among the world’s top 100 defense companies by 2031. He underlined that the $480 million revenue target is an integral part of this goal and that the subsystems developed by Altınay are among the capabilities of only a few companies globally.
Ata emphasized the strategic value of the Manufacturing Excellence Center, which was launched in early 2024 with a $25 million investment. The facility, with its high-precision production and assembly capabilities, also contributes to the company’s lean manufacturing and digital transformation vision.
Stating that R&D is a core strength of Altınay Defense, Ata noted that the company is working on new projects in areas such as AI-assisted engineering, intelligent flight control systems, and advanced material technologies. He emphasized that artificial intelligence is being integrated into various stages, from product design to digital twin technologies, and that investments in this area will continue to grow.
Ata stated that DASAL, a subsidiary of Altınay, specializes in multi-rotor UAV systems, while TAAC develops landing gear and control systems for combat aircraft. He highlighted that both subsidiaries are focused on critical technologies and contribute to integrating Altınay Defense’s solutions into global platforms.
