Hakan Altınay

Hakan Altınay graduated from Istanbul Technical University’s Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 1990 as one of Turkey’s first four Space Engineers. In 1991, he began his postgraduate studies as a research assistant at the same faculty.

He founded Altınay Robotics and Automation Ltd., one of Turkey’s first R&D companies, within İTÜ-TEKMER, Turkey’s first technopark. In 1996, Altınay Robotics was recognized by the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) as one of the top 18 robot manufacturers in Europe. Today, through his companies based in Turkey and Germany, he leads a technology group employing over 1,100 professionals — including more than 800 engineers and PhDs — and delivering innovative products and manufacturing technologies to national and international industries.

In addition to serving as Chairman and Vice Chairman of various companies under Altınay Technology Group, he is currently the Chairman of the Board at Altınay Defense Technologies Inc. He also serves as Chairman of the Board at DASAL Aerospace Technologies Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of ALTINAY Defense) and Vice Chairman of the Board at TAAC Aerospace Technologies Inc. (a 50-50 joint venture between ALTINAY Defense and Turkish Aerospace Industries).
