24.07.2024

Altınay Defense Technologies continues to strengthen its strategic position in the defense industry by delivering domestically developed systems to the Turkish Naval Forces. Following the successful development of the HYTS - Helicopter Capture and Transfer System, the company now aims to eliminate foreign dependency on I class frigates with its newly developed JP-5 Fuel Transfer and Service System.

Indigenous Alternatives for Critical Naval Systems

Designed to meet the NATO-standard F-44 (JP-5) fuel requirements of helicopters operating aboard military vessels, the JP-5 system ensures not only safe fuel transfer but also enables fuel drainage, filtration, and redirection between storage and service tanks.

Thanks to this advanced system, safe and efficient refueling operations can be conducted on naval platforms, enhancing operational continuity. The JP-5 system is being developed under the main contractorship of TAİS OG–STM Joint Venture.

Safe Helicopter Operations with HYTS

Developed in collaboration with STM, the HYTS - Helicopter Capture and Transfer System enables the autonomous landing, securing, and hangar transfer of helicopters on naval vessels. The system utilizes real-time image processing technologies to track the helicopter’s position and allows the entire operation to be safely managed by a single operator without the need for additional deck personnel.

Value for Both Domestic Use and Export Markets

Z. Burak Mercan, General Manager of Altınay Defense Technologies, stated that both systems will be integrated into the new-generation warships of the Turkish Navy:“These systems will not only eliminate foreign dependency but also unlock significant export potential by addressing the needs of allied countries.”

Mercan emphasized that Altınay will continue to invest in critical defense technologies and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to enhancing the operational capabilities of the Turkish Armed Forces.
